EMR/EMT Admissions Policy and Course Costs

Admissions Policy

Students applying for the EMR/EMT course must be at least 18 years old prior to the first day of the course. Students are expected to have the math and language skills of a high school graduate.

EMT/EMR students must provide a legible copy of their:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Current driver’s license
  • Basic Life Suppert (BLS) card which was issued within 6 months of the start of the EMT course.
  • Completed Immunization Worksheet
  • Clear background check from Washington State Patrol (performed by our office)
  • Physical strength adequate to perform the normal functions of an EMT/EMR
  • Verification of Health Insurance

Course Costs

  • Tuition
    • EMR - $600
    • EMT - $1000
  • BLS certification training: $65.00
  • Immunizations and/or verification: varies
  • Emergency Care PLUS MyBradylab with Pearson eText -- Access Card Package (13th Edition)

    • $140.00–$210.00 depending on vendor
  • Blood pressure cuff and stethoscope: $60.00–$90.00
  • Safety glasses (ANZI Z87.1 approved): $18.00–$25.00
  • White, collared shirt $10–$20
  • Navy blue work pants $20+
  • Black shoes $20+( Recommend 8” safety toe black boots, preferably side zip, if planning on attending the Fire Academy)
  • NREMT Test Voucher (1st NREMT Test Voucher included in tuition)
    • EMR $75
    • EMT $80
